Anyone heard of Watchtower policy change concerning pedophiles

i'm passing this along from someone else on another discussion board.

the claim of any substantive change in the policy on pedophiles is news to me.

can anybody verify or falsify this claim?.

As of Jan 2009, Family Worship Night™ now is to replace the Congregation Book Study™, and is receiving increasing importance in special needs parts™. This seems to be to address the fact that various ones have been growing up™ without much attention to the youths making the Truth™ their own. Of course, in order for the children to be inculcated correctly™, the parent(s) need to have their hearts™ trained in the Truth™ as well, so that they don't become deviant in the first place, or if they have, so that their hearts™ may be corrected.™

Of course, I assume that the Elders™ and other responsible family heads™ were doing the Family Study™ weekly as it was. If so, an extra evening for personal study™ has two advantages that I can see which bear on this current Topic: an extra evening for Elders™ to engage in Shepherd™-related concerns; and an extra evening for those who require spiritual assistance™, counselling and therapy to get it.

I see that October 22 (1995) issue of Awake!'s "before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away" is repaced by November 8 (1995) issue of Awake!'s "that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things".

In one sense, "the generation that saw the events of 1914" will never completely pass away. This is in line with the thought that Jehovah is a God of the living: of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Though dead and NOT in heaven, these 3 men (and many others) are alive to Jehovah, being in his memory, so as to resurrect them. In like manner, some that saw 1914 have already been raised to heavenly life, and others are yet in Jehovah's memory. So, in this way the "former truth" is still correct, and NOT a false prophecy.

"Making sure of all things" surely is not meant, or possible for any of Jehovah's creation, in any absolute sense. Context and one's perspective at the moment determine what to prioritise and what to give credence to. Just because I hear certain "mistakes" made from time to time by any individual, doesn't mean that others notice the same mistakes as I do. We ALL stumble many times, so we must be very careful to not wrongly impute motives, otherwise that wrong imputation would tar US to the more careful, balanced observer. The perfection I expect is in accord with Matthew 5:43-48 regarding even-handedness in my dealings with all, and NOT in regards to finding some one or some group as being absolutely free from the need to improve. If we had no need to ever improve, would life ever be worth living? I think NOT. If we never had need to improve, we would have nothing to learn. Even Jehovah learns as we each make our choices, one way and another.

The word usage found in the NWT and other WT publications requires an understanding and respect of the perspective of its authors, publishers, and adherents. Characterisations such as "cult leaders" and "charlatans" do not appear to indicate such human empathy, in my honest opinion.

Loving everyone is so important for our interactions in life to go well. We must be attuned to Jehovah's perspective in order to love everyone correctly, which includes those who may be labelled a "troll", whether correctly or otherwise. PROVE that Jehovah's Witnesses have the "Truth".

minimus started a thread asking people to prove that jws don't have the truth.... but, instead of proving they don't, i'd like to see someone prove that the witnesses do have the truth.. this is your thread jw apologists....convince me why you have the truth.. to all you apostates and nay-sayers, please allow the apologists to have their say without harrassing them.

Actually, I believe that Big Tex and Palmtree67 and I are all in agreement in saying that religion has proven to be very much an individual thing. Even if any of us feel convinced that JWs on balance have the "Truth", it is important that each of us PROVE the truth (a.k.a. value) of the Bible by applying its principles to our everyday situations, whether they be frequently asked questions (such as If there is a God, what does He expects from us?) or whether it be regarding more "mundane" matters, such as how to be perfect, as Matthew 5:48 commands.

Having the "Truth" and applying the "Truth" wisely throughout one's life may be viewed as the same, or "having the truth" may be seen as a prerequisite to applying it wisely in life. Either way, it is wisdom that proves the matter's real value.

Certainly Adam, Eve, and Jesus do differ from the rest of mankind, don't they, Narkissos? I suggest that even Christendom puts these 3 (in their obedient human states) in a different class, even those of Christendom who do not accept the God-man notion in relation to Jesus' human existence. I believe that an accurate read of the Bible determines who has the right to rule, in any situation.
